The Opportunity
Established, growing multi-disciplinary SME with a broad client base across a myriad of sectors are looking for an enthusiastic, Accounts Assistant to join their friendly team based in Farnworth.
The business has built a strong reputation within its sector and is continuing to grow and expand, so as a result of this, there is a fantastic opportunity to join at this exciting juncture and be a part of the journey.
Following recent investment, the company is entering an exciting period of growth, with ambitious plans to continue expanding organically over the coming years.
The Role
You will join a small, collaborative finance team and support the day-to-day running of the finance function.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous transactional experience who is keen to develop their technical accounting knowledge and broaden their skillset, taking ownership and also getting exposure to all aspects of the function.
You will enjoy a varied remit, including transactional processing, reconciliations, management accounts support, cash flow reporting and VAT. You will work closely with an experienced finance team, with scope for your responsibilities to increase as your experience develops.
Your remit will include:
*Collating and processing expenses
*Raising sales invoices
*Preparing balance sheet reconciliations, including bank and fixed assets
*Analysing areas of the profit and loss account
*Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts
*Taking on increasing responsibility for management accounts as experience develops
*Assisting with cash flow reporting
*Providing ad hoc finance support across the business
*Supporting the preparation of VAT returns
*Providing cover for the purchase ledger function
*Assisting with the implementation of a new ERP system
The successful candidate will ideally have:
*1-2 years working in a role either in Accounts Payable or Receivable
*A proactive approach and genuine desire to progress their finance career
*An interest in progressing with relevant professional studies
*Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
*The ability to work accurately and meet deadlines
*Clear written and verbal communication skills
*Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with PivotTables and VLOOKUPs
*A reliable, proactive and team-focused approach
