The Opportunity


Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a growing finance team based in Castleford.


This is a great opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking to take the next step in their career, with the chance to gain further exposure to management accounts, VAT, reconciliations and year-end processes.


The Role


As an Assistant Accountant, you will support the wider finance function across a range of accounting duties, including:
*Completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
*Reviewing trial balances through to management account level
*Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
*Preparing and posting journals
*Supporting the preparation of VAT returns
*Providing support across purchase and sales ledger when required
*Producing ad-hoc reports and providing support to the Head of Finance and Company Accountant
*Assisting with the year-end audit process
About You


We are looking for an Assistant Accountant with:
*AAT Level 3 or above
*At least 3 years’ experience within an accounts role
*Strong Excel skills, ideally at an advanced level
*Microsoft Dynamics or Business Central experience would be desirable
*Payroll knowledge would be advantageous
*A strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
