Academics is seeking a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive mainstream primary school in Gloucester, working closely with a pupil who requires additional learning support. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about inclusive education and eager to help a child reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities - 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant:
*Provide 1:1 tailored support for a pupil with special educational needs (SEN) to help them access the curriculum and thrive in the classroom.
*Implement strategies and interventions outlined in the child’s education plan.
*Support the pupil’s emotional, social, and academic development throughout the school day.
*Work in close collaboration with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
*Communicate effectively with parents/carers and contribute to progress reviews and reports.
What We’re Looking For:
*Prior experience working with children, ideally in a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant capacity.
*Background in SEN support (ASD, ADHD, speech & language, etc.) is highly desirable.
*A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
*A valid Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
*Two professional references.
