Job Description:
Full job descriptionOur private healthcare client in London is seeking an experienced Credit Manager to take ownership of end-to-end credit operations across self-pay, PMI and international/embassy billing.
You’ll lead the credit function, tighten controls, improve cashflow, and ensure a smooth, patient-centred billing experience.
The role operates on a hybrid working basis, and offers the opportunity to join a close knit, market leading organisation.
Responsibilities:
*Oversee all credit activity, ensuring timely collection across self-pay, PMI and embassy accounts.
*Strengthen credit policies, reduce aged debt, and drive measurable improvements in debtor days.
*Build strong working relationships with patients, insurers, consultants and internal clinical teams.
*Produce clear weekly/monthly reporting on cash received, ageing profiles and risk exposure.
*Provide guidance to credit controllers and support wider finance operations during peak periods.
*Work confidently with patient billing platforms and ensure accurate coding, reconciliation and audit-ready documentation.
Requirements:
*Strong credit management experience, ideally within private healthcare or another regulated, high-volume billing environment (multi-entity experience would also be a benefit)
*Deep understanding of PMI, self-pay and embassy billing.
*Proven track record of reducing aged debt and improving cashflow.
*Confident communicator able to balance firmness with empathy in patient-facing scenarios.
*Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with healthcare billing systems.
*Comfortable working at pace and taking ownership from day one.
