Salary: £25,337 (part-time equivalent) | £37,500 FTE
Location: Tyneside & Northumberland | Hybrid Working
Contract: Permanent
Shape the Future of Mental Health Services
We’re seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Counselling Manager to join a respected mental health organisation during an exciting period of growth and development.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll provide leadership, clinical governance, and operational oversight across counselling services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred support while helping to shape the future of mental health provision across the North East.
This is an excellent opportunity for a counselling or psychotherapy professional who is passionate about service development, clinical excellence, and leading high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead the development and continuous improvement of counselling services.
*Ensure services are accessible, evidence-based, and responsive to community needs.
*Oversee clinical governance, safeguarding, quality assurance, and compliance.
*Manage service delivery, budgets, waiting lists, and performance.
*Build relationships with commissioners, NHS partners, and key stakeholders.
*Lead, support, and develop counselling managers and clinical leads.
*Analyse service data and drive quality improvement initiatives.
*Produce reports for senior leadership and trustees.
About You
You will be an accredited Counsellor or Psychotherapist (BACP, UKCP, or equivalent) with:
*Significant experience managing counselling, psychotherapy, or mental health services.
*Strong knowledge of clinical governance, safeguarding, and risk management.
*Proven leadership and team development experience.
*Experience of service improvement and change management.
*Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
*A strong understanding of outcomes measurement and data-led decision-making.
