Full job descriptionOur client, a reputable independent garage in Kettering, is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join their well-established team. This is a full-time, permanent position offering stability, a friendly working environment, and opportunities for professional development.

Duties of the Vehicle Technician:
*Conduct servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs on a wide range of vehicles
*Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment
*Perform MOT testing and related repairs where qualified
*Replace brakes, tyres, cambelts, clutches, and perform engine repairs
*Undertake gearbox replacements and associated repairs
*Diagnose and repair air conditioning systems, including re-gassing
*Carry out welding and general mechanical repairs as needed
*Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
*Complete accurate documentation and clearly communicate work requirements
Requirements of the Vehicle Technician:
*At least 3 years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician
*Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills
*Proven ability to carry out servicing, repairs, and diagnostics
*Experience working on brakes, tyres, cambelts, clutch replacements, and MOT repairs
*Additional skills in air conditioning and welding are desirable
*Current Class 4 MOT Tester licence is highly desirable; individuals with MOT experience and DVSA certification are preferred
*Relevant qualifications such as C&G or NVQ Level 2/3 in Motor Vehicle Technology are preferred, though demonstrated experience will be considered
*Full UK driving licence
