Full job descriptionOur client, a reputable commercial vehicle operation in Ilkeston, is seeking to appoint a skilled HGV Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced HGV Technicians to work within a stable and supportive workshop environment, offering long-term job security and ongoing technical development.
*Salary: Up to £45,000 Basic + Bonus + Benefits
*Hours: 45 Hours Per Week
*Contract: 24 Month Fixed-Term Contract (Likely Extension)

Duties of the HGV Technician:
*Servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and LCVs
*Preparing and presenting vehicles for MOT testing
*Conducting six-week safety inspections and scheduled servicing
*Diagnosing faults using modern workshop diagnostic tools
*Mechanical and cosmetic repairs as required
*Completing warranty repairs aligned with manufacturer guidelines
*Replacing and fitting vehicle components safely and efficiently
*Providing breakdown support when necessary
*Maintaining accurate workshop documentation and compliance records
*Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with DVSA and company standards
Requirements of the HGV Technician:
*Proven experience working on HGVs within a commercial fleet environment
*Experience working on LCVs advantageous
*City & Guilds Commercial Vehicle qualification or equivalent preferred
*HGV driver’s licence beneficial but not essential
*Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
*Reliable, hardworking, and well-organised approach
*Positive attitude with a willingness to develop skills
*Excellent communication skills and team-oriented mentality
*Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment
