Job Description:
Full job descriptionSchool Transport Assistant
Location: EH16 4BB – You would be required to start at the depot
Rate of Pay: £14.27 per hour
Hours of work: Minimum 20 hours per week on split shifts.
Duration: Ongoing
Immediate Start
PVG Certificate: Required for safeguarding purposes. For new applicants this will cost you £59
Key Responsibilities:
*Supportive Supervision: Assist and supervise children during their journey, creating a safe, calm, and positive travel experience.
*Clear Communication: Coordinate with the driver, school staff, and parents to keep communication smooth and ensure each child’s needs are met.
*Mobility and Equipment Assistance: Help children safely in and out of the vehicle, including those who use mobility aids or specialised equipment.
Requirements:
*Empathy and Patience: A genuine passion for helping children with additional support needs.
*Experience: Previous experience in a similar role or working with children with disabilities is preferred but not essential.
*Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate calmly and effectively with children, families, and team members.
*Reliability: Punctuality and consistency are essential for building trust with children and families.
