Hays are pleased to be partnered with a well-established, reputable and award-winning manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Logistics Manager to lead its logistics operation. Working in a fast-paced production environment, the organisation supplies clients both in the UK and internationally and is committed to continuous improvement, operational excellence and customer service.
Your new role
As Logistics Manager, you will lead the logistics function, managing transport, inventory and export activities whilst developing and motivating a team of 5. Working as part of the Leadership Team, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient day-to-day logistics operations, managing relationships with freight and transport providers, maintaining inventory accuracy, overseeing import and export compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the department. You will play a key role in supporting business objectives, improving operational performance and ensuring products are delivered to customers safely, efficiently and cost-effectively.
What you’ll need to succeed
*Previous experience in a Logistics, Supply Chain or Transport Management role within a manufacturing or engineering environment
*Strong understanding of logistics operations, inventory management and transport processes
*Experience managing imports, exports and customs requirements
*Proven leadership experience with the ability to develop and manage teams - essential
*Previous experience of using ERP systems
*Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
*Experience driving operational improvements and change initiatives
*Experience within fast-paced manufacturing or engineering sectors would be advantageous.
