Full job descriptioniOS Engineer Manchester | Contract | Hybrid
We’re currently looking for an experienced iOS Engineer to join an established engineering team working on a large-scale consumer application.
This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, can quickly understand an existing codebase, and is confident taking features from initial design through to production release.
What you’ll be doing*Develop and maintain native iOS features using Swift, SwiftUI and UIKit
*Take ownership of features from technical design through to release
*Work with backend engineers, Product, Design and QA to deliver high-quality features
*Integrate with REST and/or GraphQL APIs
*Write clean, maintainable and testable code
*Debug production issues and improve application stability and performance
*Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
*Monitor application quality using crash reporting and observability tools
*Work with backend-driven UI solutions
What we’re looking for*3+ years’ professional iOS development experience
*Strong knowledge of Swift
*Strong experience with SwiftUI and modern iOS architecture, such as MVVM
*Solid understanding of UIKit
*Strong knowledge of Xcode and Apple development tooling
*Experience consuming REST and/or GraphQL APIs
*Experience debugging production applications
*Experience writing unit tests
*Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
*Ability to quickly understand large, existing codebases
*Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
*Strong focus on delivery, quality and ownership
Nice to haveExperience with:
*GraphQL
*A/B testing and experimentation
*Grafana, Datadog, Firebase or similar observability tools
*iOS performance optimisation
*Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines
*Large-scale consumer applications
*Claude, Codex or other AI-assisted development tools
