Location: Town Hall, SL6 1RF
Start Date: Monday 14th September 2026 (anticipated)
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm
Pay Rate: £13.36 per hour PAYE / £17.26 per hour Umbrella
Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead are seeking a professional and customer-focused Receptionist to provide a welcoming front-of-house service at the Town Hall. This varied role will involve greeting visitors, managing enquiries, coordinating meeting room and desk bookings, issuing visitor passes, ordering supplies, and supporting civic events and day-to-day facilities operations.
Key Responsibilities:
*Act as the first point of contact for visitors, customers, councillors, contractors, and guests.
*Provide excellent customer service and signpost enquiries appropriately.
*Manage meeting room and desk bookings.
*Issue visitor badges and support ID pass administration.
*Maintain visitor records and reception security procedures.
*Order office and facilities supplies and process deliveries.
*Manage requests through shared inboxes and calendars.
*Support civic events, ceremonies, and formal meetings.
*Undertake general administrative duties as required.
About You
*Previous reception, front-of-house, or customer service experience.
*Strong communication and organisational skills.
*Able to remain calm and professional under pressure.
*Confident using Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, and other IT systems.
*Comfortable dealing with a wide range of people in a busy public-facing environment.
*Experience with room booking systems or event support is desirable.
Requirements
*GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent.
*Basic DBS check required.
*Flexibility to cover reception duties during periods of absence.
