Full job descriptionAbout the Role
REED Business Support is seeking an organised and proactive HR Administration Assistant to join our client based on the outskirts of Newcastle. Supporting a workforce of approximately 80 - 100 employees, you will play a key role in providing administrative and operational HR support across the organisation.
Working closely with the Directors, you will be the first point of contact for employees with HR related queries and will assist in delivering a professional, compliant, and employee focused HR service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous HR administration experience who is looking to further develop their HR career within a hands on and varied role.
Key Responsibilities
*Act as a first point of contact for employees, responding to HR-related queries in a timely and professional manner.
*Provide day to day HR administrative support to the Directors and wider business.
*Assist managers and Directors with employee relations matters, escalating complex issues where appropriate.
*Support recruitment activities, including posting vacancies, coordinating interviews, preparing offer letters, and onboarding new starters.
*Prepare employment contracts, amendments, and other HR documentation.
*Maintain accurate employee records and ensure all information is kept up to date and compliant with GDPR requirements.
*Coordinate induction programmes for new employees.
*Support sickness absence monitoring, annual leave administration, and employee lifecycle processes.
*Assist with disciplinary, grievance, capability, and performance management administration.
*Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures, ensuring employees understand company processes.
*Support with training administration and maintaining training records.
*Produce HR reports and data as required.
*Assist in reviewing and updating HR policies and employee handbooks.
*Ensure confidentiality is maintained when handling sensitive employee information.
Person Specification
*Previous experience within an HR Administration, HR Assistant, or People Administration role.
*Strong understanding of HR processes and employment legislation.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
*Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
*Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively.
*Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
*Confident providing first-line advice and guidance to employees on HR-related matters.
*Ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the business.
*Experience supporting employee relations cases.
*Experience working within a small or medium-sized business environment.
*Familiarity with HR systems and databases.
