Job Description:
Full job descriptionBirmingham City Centre, Up to £36k Plus benefits and Hybrid working Client AccountantWe are recruiting for a Client Accountant to join an established property and asset services organisation. You’ll manage accounting across a dedicated property portfolio, working closely with clients and internal teams to deliver accurate and timely financial services.
Key ResponsibilitiesClient Accounting*Manage client and property trial balances.
*Prepare client and management reports.
*Handle service charge and rent accounting.
*Reconcile cash, invoices, and client accounts.
*Resolve accounting and client queries.
*Maintain accurate financial records and systems.
*Manage service charge year-end reconciliations.
*Prepare completion statements and funding requests.
*Ensure client income is paid accurately and on time.
*Support client audits and financial reviews.
*Lead client calls and manage external stakeholders.
*Support onboarding and offboarding of properties and clients.
*Assist with coaching junior accounting team members.
Operations & Risk*Follow internal procedures, RICS guidelines, and client money regulations.
*Review outputs from internal and offshore teams.
*Identify and escalate financial risks and issues.
*Maintain accurate compliance and reporting records.
Systems*Use property management and accounting systems.
*Maintain accurate and up-to-date system records.
*Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills required.
Knowledge & Experience*2-3 years’ property or client accounting experience.
*Understanding of service charges, rent, and client money.
*Experience with property management systems.
*PM&A Tramps experience desirable.
*Knowledge of RICS/client money regulations desirable.
Skills & Attributes*Strong attention to detail.
*Excellent communication skills.
*Organised and deadline-focused.
*Proactive and able to take ownership.
*Strong team player with a willingness to develop.
