Full job descriptionAssociate Flood Risk Consultant - Basingstoke £60,000 - £70,000A growing specialist consultancy is looking to appoint an Associate Flood Risk Consultant to join their team in Basingstoke. This is a good opportunity for an experienced flood risk professional looking to take on greater responsibility across technical delivery, client management and project leadership.
The Role:
*Lead and manage flood risk and drainage projects from inception through to completion.
*Prepare Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies for residential, commercial and mixed-use developments.
*Undertake and review hydraulic modelling and flood risk assessments.
*Provide technical advice to clients, developers, planners and other stakeholders.
*Liaise with the Environment Agency, Lead Local Flood Authorities and other regulatory bodies.
*Manage project budgets, programmes and client requirements.
*Review technical work and provide guidance to junior members of the team.
*Support business development, fee proposals and client relationships.
*Contribute to the continued growth and development of the flood risk team.
The Candidate:
*Strong experience within flood risk consultancy.
*Experience producing Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies.
*Good understanding of planning requirements and flood risk policy.
*Experience with hydraulic modelling software such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW or InfoWorks ICM would be advantageous.
*Confident dealing with clients and regulatory authorities.
*Previous experience mentoring or managing junior staff.
*Relevant degree in Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
