Salary: £43,051 – £52,182 per annum
Additional payments available for sleep-ins and overtime worked.
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Registered Manager to lead and manage a children’s residential service in South Wales.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced children’s residential professional who is ready to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of a home and lead a dedicated team in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people.
The service provides a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for young people who may have emotional, behavioural and complex support needs.
The Role
As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the effective running of the home, ensuring that children and young people receive consistently high standards of care and support.
Your responsibilities will include:
*Leading, motivating and developing a team of residential care staff
*Taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the home
*Ensuring the service operates in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations and safeguarding requirements
*Maintaining high standards of care and promoting positive outcomes for young people
*Ensuring care plans, risk assessments and records are accurate and regularly reviewed
*Working closely with children, families, social workers and other professionals
*Attending reviews, care planning meetings and professional discussions
*Managing staff performance, supervision and development
*Ensuring staff receive appropriate training and support
*Promoting a positive, child-centred culture within the home
*Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
*Supporting inspections and maintaining compliance with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) requirements
*Contributing to wider management and service development across the organisation
Essential Requirements
*Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People’s Services, or actively working towards the qualification
*Significant experience of supervising and managing staff
*Previous experience working within a residential care setting
*Strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills
*Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
*Knowledge of Welsh safeguarding procedures
*Good understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and statutory requirements
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Full UK manual driving licence and access to a vehicle
*A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people
*Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
Desirable
*Registered with Social Care Wales, or eligible and willing to register
*Previous experience within children’s residential care
*Experience supporting children and young people with emotional or behavioural needs
*Welsh-speaking skills
