Multiple positions available across South Wales | Full-time & Part-time | Urgent Vacancies
Salary: £27,804 – £38,082 per annum, depending on experience and additional shifts
We are currently recruiting for multiple Senior Residential Support Workers to join established children’s residential services across South Wales.
These are excellent opportunities for experienced care professionals who are passionate about supporting children and young people and want to develop their career within residential childcare.
You will work as part of a dedicated team, providing consistent, nurturing and therapeutic support to children and young people who may have emotional, behavioural or complex support needs.
The role involves helping young people feel safe, valued and supported, while encouraging their independence, development and wellbeing.
About the Role
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will:
*Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people within a residential setting
*Act as a positive role model and build trusting relationships
*Support young people with their emotional, behavioural and social development
*Take responsibility for leading shifts and supporting the wider staff team
*Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures
*Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence
*Work closely with colleagues and other professionals involved in the young person’s care
*Maintain accurate records and complete relevant documentation
*Help maintain a safe, stable and supportive home environment
*Participate in a flexible shift pattern, including weekends and sleep-in duties
Essential Requirements
*QCF/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent
*At least 1 year’s experience within a care/support environment
*Full UK manual driving licence
*Experience or ability to take responsibility for leading shifts
*Good understanding of safeguarding, health & safety and risk management
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*Ability to remain calm, patient and professional in challenging situations
*Good basic IT skills
*Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and sleep-ins
*A genuine passion for supporting children and young people
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
*Level 3 qualification specifically relating to Children & Young People
*Previous experience within residential childcare
*Previous experience supporting children or young people with emotional or behavioural needs
*Registered with Social Care Wales, or willing to register where required
*Welsh-speaking skills
