Hours: Approximately 2.5-3 days per week
Location: Wrexham - remote, hybrid or office-based
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a growing finance team. Working closely with the Payroll Manager, you will help process an accurate and timely monthly payroll for approximately 180 employees.
This is a varied position involving complex pay arrangements, employee benefits, pensions, salary sacrifice and HMRC reporting. It would suit an experienced payroll professional who is accurate, self-motivated and comfortable working independently to strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities*Process monthly salaries, deductions, additional payments and adjustments

*Manage payroll administration for new starters and leavers

*Calculate overtime, overnight payments, double time and variable pay rates

*Process benefits-in-kind and salary-sacrifice deductions

*Administer healthcare, life cover, vehicle and employee benefit schemes

*Maintain pension information

*Answer employee queries relating to pay, pensions and benefits

*Maintain accurate and confidential employee records

*Enter and authorise payroll payments

*Complete FPS and EPS submissions to HMRC

*Prepare annual P11D and PSA submissions

*Process annual salary and holiday changes

*Complete Office for National Statistics reporting

*Recommend payroll process and efficiency improvements

Skills and Experience*A minimum of two years’ experience in a payroll position

*Strong working knowledge of payroll processes and workplace legislation

*Strong Microsoft Excel skills

*Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail

*Strong organisational and time-management abilities

*Experience working independently to payroll deadlines

*Confidence handling sensitive and confidential data

*A collaborative, flexible and proactive approach

Experience using Sage Payroll would be beneficial but is not essential.
Flexible WorkingThe role is equivalent to approximately 2.5-3 days per week, with the flexibility to spread the contracted hours across 2.5 to 5 working days. This could include a school-hours working pattern.
The position can be fully remote, hybrid or office-based in Wrexham. The balance between office and home working can be adjusted to reflect the agreed hours.
Alternative arrangements will be considered for the right person, and the role may have the potential to become full-time in the future.
