Job Description:
Full job descriptionA law enforcement organisation based in London is seeking experienced Civilian Investigator (Outside Enquiries) that will play an important role in progressing complex investigations by gathering evidence, developing investigative opportunities and engaging directly with victims, witnesses and partner organisations.
Working within a multidisciplinary investigative team, you will undertake enquiries across the UK, obtain information and evidence from a variety of sources, and ensure all investigative actions are completed in accordance with legislation, policy and best practice.
The role is an initial 12-month contract on a hybrid working basis, there are no fixed office attendance days; however, candidates must be able to attend the office and other locations as required by the investigation. The hourly rate for the role is £22.42 per hour + holiday pay via PAYE or £29.11 per hour via an Umbrella company.
Key Responsibilities
*Conduct outside enquiries to identify, locate and obtain information from victims, witnesses, suspects and relevant third parties.
*Undertake witness tracing activities to support ongoing investigations.
*Obtain and record witness accounts, evidential statements and intelligence.
*Gather, review and submit evidential material from organisations, businesses, local authorities and partner agencies.
*Liaise with victims and witnesses, providing updates and maintaining a professional, victim-focused approach.
*Develop and progress investigative opportunities in collaboration with detectives and other investigators.
*Maintain accurate records of investigative actions on relevant systems.
*Produce investigation reports, briefing papers and case updates.
*Ensure enquiries are completed within agreed timescales and in line with investigative priorities.
*Work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to support the overall objectives of the investigation.
Essential Requirements
*PIP2 Qualified.
*Experience conducting investigations, evidence gathering, interviewing or information collection activities.
*Strong ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals, including vulnerable victims and witnesses.
*Experience obtaining witness accounts, evidential statements or investigative information.
*Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, accurate reports and records.
*Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple lines of enquiry.
*Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
*Understanding of confidentiality, information management and data protection requirements.
*Experience using IT systems and case management tools.
