Sheffield (Hybrid)
Elevation Recruitment Group is currently recruiting for a Buyer to join one of our clients in Sheffield on a 12-month fixed term contract. This is a hybrid role, offering the flexibility of home and office working, and would suit an experienced procurement professional looking to add immediate value within a fast-paced supply chain function.
The Role
As Buyer, you will take ownership of a defined supplier portfolio, ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and materials in line with business requirements. You will play a key role in maintaining supply continuity, managing supplier relationships, and supporting wider procurement initiatives during a period of business change.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage the end-to-end purchasing process for a designated category of spend
*Place and progress purchase orders, ensuring accurate delivery dates and pricing
*Build and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers, negotiating terms where appropriate
*Monitor stock levels and liaise with internal stakeholders to forecast demand
*Resolve supply issues, delivery delays, and quality concerns in a timely manner
*Support cost-saving and process improvement initiatives across the procurement function
*Maintain accurate records within the ERP/purchasing system
About You
*Proven experience in a Buyer, Purchasing, or Procurement role, ideally within a manufacturing, engineering, or distribution environment
*Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
*Confident working with ERP/MRP systems
*Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
*CIPS qualification (or working towards) is desirable but not essential
