Location: Powys and surrounding areas
Pay: GBP85 - GBP100 per day
Hours: 08:30 - 15:30, 6.5 hours per day
Contract: Flexible, temporary and ongoing opportunities
Are you an experienced School Support Worker in Powys looking for flexible work within local primary, secondary or specialist education settings?
We are recruiting reliable and enthusiastic School Support Staff to work across schools throughout Powys
We are interested in hearing from candidates with experience in roles such as:
*Teaching Assistant
*Learning Support Assistant
*Cover Supervisor
*Classroom Support Assistant
*Behaviour Support Worker
*Additional Learning Needs Support
*Pastoral Support
*School Administrator
*Exam Invigilator
*Lunchtime Supervisor
Opportunities may include flexible daily supply work, short-term placements, long-term assignments and ongoing school-based roles.
The Role
Depending on your experience and the needs of the school, your responsibilities may include:
*Supporting pupils within the classroom
*Working with individuals or small groups
*Assisting teachers with lessons and classroom activities
*Supervising classes using pre-prepared work
*Supporting pupils with additional learning needs
*Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
*Providing pastoral and emotional support
*Helping pupils develop confidence and independence
*Following school policies and safeguarding procedures
*Creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
About You
We are looking for candidates who have previous experience working with children or young people in a school, education, care, youth work or support setting.
You should also have:
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*A patient, supportive and professional approach
*Confidence working with children and young people
*The ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
*Good behaviour-management skills
*A flexible and dependable attitude
*A genuine interest in supporting pupils’ education and development
*An understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
Experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs, autism, emotional and behavioural needs or challenging behaviour would be particularly valuable.
