Full job description Recovery Practitioner Locations: Streatham, Croydon & Clapham
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: 6-8 weeks, with potential extension
Reports to: Deputy Recovery Programme Manager
Role OverviewWe are seeking a compassionate and motivated Recovery Practitioner to support men recovering from addiction within a safe, structured and supportive residential environment.
You will help residents build confidence, independence and resilience through recovery coaching, group work, practical support and community development.
Key Responsibilities* Build positive, professional relationships with residents.
* Provide one-to-one recovery support and develop individual growth plans.
* Facilitate recovery groups, workshops and activities.
* Promote a positive, supportive recovery community.
* Support residents with independent living skills and accommodation responsibilities.
* Identify and escalate safeguarding, wellbeing and risk concerns.
* Maintain accurate case notes and resident records.
* Work collaboratively with the wider Recovery Team.
* Encourage residents towards training, volunteering, employment and greater independence.
* Respond calmly and professionally to challenging situations.
Essential Requirements*Experience supporting people with complex or multiple needs.
*Understanding of addiction, recovery or related support services.
*Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
*Ability to maintain professional boundaries.
*Experience working effectively within a team.
*Good judgement, resilience and ability to remain calm under pressure.
*Good IT and record-keeping skills.
*Enhanced DBS required.
*Right to work in the UK.
*Flexibility to work across locations and participate in relevant rotas.
Desirable*Group facilitation experience.
*Supported housing or residential experience.
*Knowledge of safeguarding, risk management and trauma-informed practice.
*Relevant lived experience of recovery.
