Full job descriptionConcept 11 is recruiting an experienced Senior Support Worker on behalf of an established care provider in Leicester.
We are looking for an experienced care professional who is confident providing hands-on support while also leading shifts, supporting colleagues and maintaining high standards of care and compliance.
The service supports adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and complex care requirements.
The RoleAs Senior Support Worker, you will combine direct person-centred care with day-to-day leadership responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include:
*Leading shifts safely and effectively
*Coordinating and allocating duties to Support Workers
*Providing hands-on, person-centred support
*Promoting independence, choice, dignity and positive outcomes
*Supporting individuals with personal care and daily living activities
*Ensuring care plans and risk assessments are followed
*Administering and overseeing medication when trained and competent
*Maintaining and checking accurate care and medication records
*Supporting staff supervision, coaching and development
*Supporting induction and competency development of new staff
*Responding appropriately to incidents, safeguarding concerns and emergencies
*Supporting audits, compliance and service improvement
*Maintaining effective communication with families, professionals and management
*Acting as a positive role model for the wider care team
Essential RequirementsTo be considered, you should have:
*At least 2 years’ recent experience in adult social care
*Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and/or complex care
*Previous experience leading shifts and allocating work
*Experience coaching or supporting other care staff
*Experience of safe medication administration and record keeping, or the ability to complete the required competency assessment
*A sound understanding of safeguarding, duty of care and professional boundaries
*Strong verbal and written communication skills
*Good record-keeping and digital skills
*Ability to remain calm, prioritise and make safe decisions
*Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins
A Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care or equivalent is desirable. Candidates without this qualification should be willing to work towards an appropriate qualification where required.
A full UK driving licence is also desirable.
ImportantApplicants must have the existing right to work in the UK.
