A well-established and growing engineering consultancy is looking to appoint an Associate Geotechnical Director to join its team in Reading. This is a senior opportunity for an experienced geotechnical professional looking to take on greater technical, commercial and leadership responsibility.
The successful candidate will play a key role in leading geotechnical projects, developing client relationships and supporting the continued growth of the geotechnical team.
The Role*Lead and manage a varied portfolio of geotechnical projects from feasibility through to delivery.
*Provide senior technical input across ground investigation, foundations, earthworks, slopes and geotechnical design.
*Undertake and review geotechnical assessments, interpret ground investigation data and provide technical recommendations.
*Lead and mentor a team of engineers and consultants.
*Manage project budgets, programmes and resources.
*Liaise directly with clients, contractors and other engineering disciplines.
*Prepare and review technical reports, specifications and design documentation.
*Support business development, fee proposals and client relationship management.
*Identify opportunities to develop new and existing client relationships.
*Contribute to the strategic development and growth of the geotechnical team.
About You*Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
*Significant UK geotechnical consultancy experience.
*Strong technical knowledge across areas such as foundations, earthworks, retaining structures and ground investigation.
*Chartered Engineer status with ICE or a similar professional body.
*Proven experience managing projects and leading technical teams.
*Strong commercial awareness and client-facing experience.
*Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
*Experience with geotechnical design software would be advantageous.
*A track record of winning work and developing client relationships would be highly desirable.
