Help children, young people and families build brighter futures.
We’re looking for a passionate and motivated Family Help Worker to join our Family Help Service based at Prudhoe Family Hub.
Working with children, young people and families aged 0-19 (up to 25 for young people with SEND), you’ll provide early help and targeted support using a strengths-based, whole-family approach. You’ll work alongside families to identify strengths, reduce risks and achieve positive, lasting change.
Based in Prudhoe, you’ll support families across the Prudhoe and Ponteland areas and, where required, other parts of Northumberland.
What you’ll do*Undertake whole-family assessments and develop support plans.
*Deliver targeted interventions with children, young people and families.
*Ensure children’s voices are central to assessment and planning.
*Manage a caseload and coordinate multi-agency support.
*Lead Team Around the Family meetings and review progress.
*Support families facing challenges such as mental health difficulties, domestic abuse, substance misuse, poverty and multiple disadvantage.
*Work closely with schools, health services, social care and partner organisations to improve outcomes.
About youYou’ll have experience working directly with children, young people and families, along with a good understanding of safeguarding and child development.
You’ll be skilled at building positive relationships, managing competing priorities and working collaboratively with professionals to support families effectively.
Essential requirements:
*NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, Family Support, Children’s Services or a related subject (or equivalent experience).
*Experience of assessment, planning and intervention work.
*Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and procedures.
*Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
