Reed Education is proud to be supporting a specialist educational setting in Wiltshire in their search for a dedicated and resilient Maths & Science Teacher to join them from September until February half term.
This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people who have experienced significant barriers to education. The role involves teaching Maths and Science across KS3 and KS4 to pupils with SEND and SEMH needs, many of whom have experienced complex trauma and require a highly nurturing, therapeutic and relationship-focused approach to learning.
About the Role
You will be responsible for delivering engaging Maths and Science lessons that inspire, challenge and support pupils to achieve their potential academically, socially and emotionally.
Success in this role will come from your ability to build trusting relationships, create a safe and structured learning environment, and adapt your teaching to meet the individual needs of learners.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a teacher who:
Holds QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
Has experience teaching Maths and/or Science at KS3/KS4 level
Has a strong background working with SEND and SEMH pupils
Understands the impact of trauma and adverse childhood experiences on learning and behaviour
Is patient, resilient and passionate about helping vulnerable young people succeed
Can build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, colleagues and families
Believes every child deserves the opportunity to thrive regardless of their starting point
