We’re recruiting an Accounts Manager in Poole on behalf of a highly respected and growing accountancy and business advisory firm.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant to take ownership of a varied client portfolio, build strong client relationships and provide accounting, tax and commercial advice to entrepreneurial businesses.
The Role
You’ll work closely with Partners and senior colleagues, acting as a trusted adviser to clients while leading and developing junior team members.
Key responsibilities include:
* Manage a portfolio of entrepreneurial and owner-managed businesses
* Lead and develop long-term client relationships
* Review statutory accounts and tax compliance work
* Provide accounting, tax and commercial advice
* Resolve complex accounting and tax issues
* Monitor budgets, WIP, time and fee recovery
* Review working papers, accounts and tax returns
* Identify opportunities for additional services and business development
* Support Partners with key client relationships
* Supervise, mentor and develop junior members of the team
* Ensure work is delivered accurately, efficiently and to professional standards
About You
You’ll be ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience, with strong experience gained within a UK accountancy practice.
You’ll ideally have:
* Strong accountancy practice experience
* Experience managing a varied client portfolio
* Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and tax compliance
* Experience reviewing accounts and tax work
* Previous team supervision or management experience
* Excellent client relationship and communication skills
* Strong commercial awareness
* Good understanding of WIP, budgets and fee management
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* A proactive, flexible and client-focused approach
