*Location: Bolton
*Job Type: Full-time
*Hourly rate: £18.24 per hour
*Length of role: Initial 3 months
We are seeking a Financial Management Information Officer to assist in the preparation, accounting, and management of the Directorate’s financial resources. This role is crucial for maintaining financial integrity and supporting decision-making processes within the department.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Assist in the accurate preparation and maintenance of the Department’s budgets.
*Undertake regular, timely, and accurate monitoring of specific service areas of the Department’s Revenue Budget to enable appropriate control and review of financial performance throughout the year.
*Provide advice to, and liaise with, a range of budget holders across the Department to ensure optimal use of financial resources.
*Develop, maintain, and provide financial information for budget holders including unit costs and budget monitoring information.
*Assist in the preparation of final accounts and the Revenue Budget for specified areas of the Department.
*Liaise and consult with various budget holders to agree on budget allocations and monitoring information.
*Assist in the development and delivery of financial training within the department.
*Create and maintain effective communication with the budget unit and other relevant staff from the department.
*Contribute to the further development of computer-based resource systems relevant to the role.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Ability to communicate and present detailed financial information to both finance and non-finance individuals/groups at all levels of the organisation.
*Ability to produce, evaluate, and interpret financial management information regularly for the benefit of service managers.
*Must be able to work to deadlines and manage time effectively, demonstrating both team working and independent initiative.
*Information technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with financial software and mainframe applications.
*Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving financial management issues.
*Full or part-qualified AAT/IIA or equivalent, and actively studying towards a CCAB level qualification.
*Experience in a relevant financial setting and in preparing financial management information.
