We’re recruiting a Private Client Tax Manager in Exeter on behalf of a highly respected and growing accountancy and business advisory firm.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced private client tax professional to join a specialist team, managing a high-quality portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, business owners, trusts and internationally connected clients.
The Role
You’ll manage a varied portfolio of private clients, delivering a blend of tax compliance and advisory services while working closely with Partners and Directors.
Key responsibilities include:
* Manage a portfolio of HNW individuals, private clients and trusts
* Prepare and review personal tax returns and complex tax computations
* Advise on Income Tax, CGT, IHT and wider private client tax matters
* Support clients with UK residence and international tax issues
* Advise on overseas income, gains and investments
* Assist with cross-border tax planning and double tax relief claims
* Support advice on trusts, estates and succession planning
* Prepare technical reports and written tax advice
* Deal directly with clients, HMRC and professional advisers
* Identify tax planning and advisory opportunities
* Review work and provide guidance to junior team members
* Build strong, long-term client relationships
About You
You’ll have strong experience in UK Private Client Tax gained within an accountancy practice or professional services environment.
You’ll ideally have:
* CTA, ACA, ACCA or ATT qualified
* Strong personal tax compliance and advisory experience
* Experience advising HNW individuals, families and business owners
* Good technical knowledge of IHT, CGT and trusts
* Experience with international or cross-border tax matters advantageous
* Excellent client relationship and communication skills
* Experience reviewing work and supporting junior team members
* Strong organisational and technical skills
* A proactive, commercial and client-focused approach
