Full job descriptionProcurement Engineer; based at Samlesbury; 6 months; £23.05 per hour PAYE or £30.90 via Umbrella
An exciting opportunity has arisen to cover maternity leave working in a Supply Chain function as a Procurement Engineer with BAE Systems based at Samlesbury.
The role will involve;
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships, manage supplier performance and improvement activities.
- Manage the order book from order placement to delivery, including the identification and resolution of issues which may potentially affect the supply of parts
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal customers
- Regularly review stock levels against consumption to ensure that the range and scale available aligns with current requirements.
- Working closely with other functions across the business to manage the production order book.
- This role may require occasional travel to other UK Sites
Typical duties include;
- Raising purchase orders
- Regular communication with suppliers
- Maintain order book information
- Ensure prompt payment of invoices
- Provide updates to internal customers
We welcome applicants with previous procurement experience and ideally knowledge or ERP/MRP systems. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to liaise with stakeholders at all levels. You will be full conversant with MS Office packages.
