Full job descriptionSenior Engineering Geologist - LondonSalary: £45,000 - £55,000 + benefits
An established ground investigation and geotechnical consultancy is looking for a Senior Engineering Geologist to join their growing London team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Engineering Geologist looking to take on greater responsibility across a varied range of ground investigation projects.
The role will involve a strong mix of site-based investigation, technical reporting and project delivery, working across residential, commercial, infrastructure and civil engineering projects.
The Role*Planning and managing ground investigations from initial scope through to completion
*Undertaking and supervising site investigations, including boreholes, trial pits and in-situ testing
*Logging soils and rocks to industry standards
*Producing factual and interpretative ground investigation reports
*Reviewing laboratory and field testing results
*Developing ground models and providing geotechnical interpretation
*Liaising with clients, contractors and other consultants
*Supporting project management, programming and commercial delivery
*Supervising junior engineers and engineering geologists
*Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high technical standard
Requirements*Degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or a related subject
*Strong practical experience within ground investigation
*Experience producing factual and/or interpretative ground investigation reports
*Good understanding of UK ground conditions and investigation techniques
*Experience supervising site investigations and working with contractors
*Strong technical report-writing and communication skills
*A full UK driving licence is desirable
*Chartered or working towards chartership would be advantageous
