Full job description
Blackburn | Hybrid working | Competitive salary + excellent benefits
Looking for your next move in payroll?
We’re working with a growing and highly respected accountancy and business advisory firm who are looking to add a Payroll Adviser to their expanding team.
This is a great opportunity for someone with at least 2 years’ experience working within a payroll bureau who enjoys a fast-paced environment, takes pride in getting the detail right and genuinely enjoys looking after clients.
What’s in it for you?
This isn’t just another payroll processing role. You’ll be joining a supportive, values-led team where your development is taken seriously, with plenty of opportunity to broaden your skills, build trusted client relationships and progress your career.
You’ll have access to:
*Structured learning and development opportunities
*Regular performance and development reviews
*Optional monthly 1-2-1s and a dedicated mentor
*Support towards completing your CIPP qualification, if that’s something you’d like to pursue
*Opportunities to get involved in wider firm initiatives
*Flexible and hybrid working
*Weekly flexi-time
*An excellent benefits package
What will you be doing?
You’ll be responsible for supporting the delivery of accurate, timely payroll services for a portfolio of clients, working across the full payroll cycle.
Your responsibilities will include:
*Processing high volumes of payroll data accurately and to strict deadlines
*Calculating net pay and ensuring payrolls are processed correctly
*Preparing and communicating HMRC payments to clients
*Supporting BACS submissions and ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time
*Balancing payrolls and producing month and year-end reports
*Processing RTI submissions including FPS, EPS, P45s and P46s
*Managing HMRC and pension provider downloads, including tax codes and Student Loan notices
*Supporting auto-enrolment processes and liaising with pension providers
*Keeping payroll records accurate, secure and up to date
*Keeping on top of changes to payroll legislation and PAYE requirements
*Liaising with HMRC, DWP and other relevant bodies
*Developing your understanding of CIS and associated deadlines
About you
You’ll ideally have 2+ years’ payroll bureau experience and be comfortable working in an environment where deadlines, accuracy and client service are equally important.
We’re looking for someone who is:
*Organised and able to manage competing deadlines
*Accurate and detail-focused
*Confident communicating with clients and colleagues
*Positive, proactive and able to use their initiative
*Comfortable working under pressure
*A genuine team player who is equally happy working independently
*Passionate about delivering a great client experience
*Keen to learn, develop and progress
The company
You’ll be joining an award-winning Chartered Accountancy and business advisory firm with offices across Lancashire and Greater Manchester.
They’re ambitious, forward-thinking and genuinely committed to developing their people. With a strong focus on flexibility, empowerment and professional development, they’re looking for people who want to build a career rather than simply take their next job.
The firm is also B Corp accredited, committed to its people and local communities, and is working towards becoming Net Zero by 2030.
And the benefits are pretty impressive too, including:
*25 days’ holiday + bank holidays
*Winter Break office closure
*8% employer pension contribution
*4x salary death in service cover
*Income protection
*Hybrid working
*Flexible benefits scheme including private medical insurance, additional holidays and electric car options
*Enhanced family-friendly policies
*Study support and extensive learning & development
*Free on-site parking
*Cycle to work scheme
*Wellbeing support
*Firm-wide success bonus
*Agreed overtime
*Dress for your day policy
*Access to financial, legal and wellbeing support
If you’re an experienced payroll professional looking for a role where you can develop, progress and be part of a genuinely supportive team, we’d love to hear from you.
