Salary: £90–£110 per day
Job Type: Full-Time, Day-to-Day and Long-Term Roles Available
TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming and well-resourced special school in the Wirral area, which provides high-quality education for children and young people with a range of complex needs, including autism, severe learning difficulties (SLD), and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join this outstanding team. Whether you’re looking for day-to-day flexibility or a long-term role, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities:
*Provide tailored support to students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
*Work alongside teachers and other professionals to implement individual learning and communication plans
*Help create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere
*Support pupils with personal care, mobility, and emotional regulation as needed
*Encourage independence and positive behaviour through consistent routines and structure
Requirements:
*Excellent communication skills are essential – both verbal and non-verbal
*Experience working with SEND students or within a special school setting is desirable but not essential
*A caring, patient, and resilient nature
*Full-time availability (Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm)
*A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
