Full job descriptionLearning Mentor / Attendance Officer | Newham | ASAPRemedy Education are currently looking for an experienced Learning Mentor / Attendance Officer to join a supportive school in Newham, East London.
This is a varied role supporting pupils with their attendance, engagement, behaviour and wellbeing, while working closely with families and school staff to help remove barriers to learning.
The role will include:
*Monitoring and improving pupil attendance and punctuality
*Following up unexplained and persistent absences
*Working closely with pupils and families to identify barriers to attendance
*Providing one-to-one mentoring and pastoral support to pupils
*Supporting pupils with behaviour, engagement and emotional wellbeing
*Liaising with parents, teachers, safeguarding teams and external professionals
*Maintaining accurate attendance and pastoral records
*Supporting pupils to re-engage with their education
The ideal candidate will have:
*Previous experience as a Learning Mentor, Attendance Officer or Pastoral Support Worker
*Experience working with children or young people within an education setting
*Strong behaviour management and mentoring skills
*Good knowledge of safeguarding and attendance procedures
*Excellent communication skills when working with pupils, parents and professionals
