An established and well-regarded accountancy practice based in Thirsk is looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join its team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong background in accountancy practice who is looking for a varied role within a professional and friendly environment.
The Role
You will work across a varied portfolio of clients and will be responsible for a range of accounting and tax-related duties, including:
*Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
*Bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records.
*Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
*Assisting with Corporation Tax returns and related work.
*Liaising with clients and dealing with queries in a professional manner.
*Managing your workload effectively and working to deadlines.
*Supporting the wider team with general accounting duties.
About You
The practice is open to considering candidates from a range of backgrounds, but you will ideally have:
*At least 3 years’ strong experience working within an accountancy practice.
*Solid experience across accounts preparation, bookkeeping, VAT and Corporation Tax.
*Good technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail.
*Excellent organisational and communication skills.
*The ability to work independently while also contributing
