IntroductionAcorn by Synergie is recruiting on behalf of a highly respected and long-established engineering and fabrication company based in Cardiff for an experienced CNC Turner Machinist.
The ideal candidate will have experience with Siemens Sinumerik ShopTurn lathe programming.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the client’s repair and servicing workshop, where you’ll set, program and operate CNC lathes, producing one-off and batch components for heavy industrial equipment.
What We Offer*£16.94 per hour (£34,354.32 per annum).
*Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekdays and Saturdays.
*Double time on Sundays.
*24 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays.
*Company pension scheme.
*Consistent day shifts.
*Early finish every Friday.
*Full-time, permanent position.
Hours of Work*Monday to Thursday, 8am-4:30pm.
*Friday, 8am-3pm.
*39 basic hours per week.
Key Duties*Operate and set up CNC lathes to produce high-quality components.
*Program directly from drawings using Siemens Sinumerik ShopTurn software.
*Interpret technical drawings and follow specifications accurately.
*Measure and inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
*Maintain machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
*Work within a skilled machine shop environment across various industries.
Requirements*Time-served Turner / Toolmaker with proven machining experience.
*Proficiency in operating and setting up CNC lathes.
*Experience programming Siemens Sinumerik ShopTurn software.
*Confident ability to read and interpret geometric engineering drawings.
*Experience with precision measurement techniques and inspection tools.
*Understanding of equipment maintenance and care.
*Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and problem-solving ability.
*Commitment to workplace safety and procedures.
*Previous experience in a manufacturing or machining environment.
*Previous experience as a CNC Turner, Turning Machinist or CNC Turning Machinist.
