We’re recruiting an experienced Audit Senior to join a growing accountancy practice in Plymouth.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA/ACCA-qualified accountant or finalist with UK practice audit experience who is looking for a varied, client-facing role with strong progression opportunities.
You’ll take responsibility for audit assignments from planning through to completion, working closely with SMEs and owner-managed businesses while developing trusted client relationships and providing commercially focused insight.


Key Responsibilities

* Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion
* Perform statutory audits across a varied portfolio of SME and OMB clients
* Identify audit risks and ensure appropriate procedures are completed
* Review the work of junior audit staff
* Provide coaching, guidance and feedback to junior team members
* Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted adviser
* Manage workloads, budgets and deadlines effectively
* Identify opportunities to provide additional advisory services
* Liaise with Managers, Partners and other departments
* Communicate audit findings and recommendations to clients
* Keep up to date with UK accounting and auditing standards
* Ensure consistently high standards of audit quality and client service


About You

*ACA/ACCA qualified or finalist with strong relevant experience
* Previous audit experience within a UK accountancy practice
* Experience working with SMEs and owner-managed businesses
* Strong knowledge of audit procedures and accounting standards
* Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members
* Excellent client relationship and communication skills
* Strong organisational and time management abilities
* Commercially aware with a proactive approach
* Confident managing multiple assignments and competing deadlines
* Professional, personable and committed to delivering excellent client service
