We’re recruiting an experienced Private Client Tax Manager to join a growing accountancy practice in Newcastle.
This is an excellent opportunity for a CTA, ACA or ACCA-qualified tax professional with strong private client experience who is looking for a senior, client-facing role combining personal tax compliance, tax advisory, HNW clients and team leadership.
You’ll manage a portfolio of private clients, build trusted relationships and provide commercially focused advice across a broad range of personal and family tax matters.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a portfolio of private clients, HNWIs and owner-managed business owners
* Review and oversee personal tax compliance and Self Assessment returns
* Act as a key client contact and trusted tax adviser
* Provide tax planning and advisory support across complex client affairs
* Advise on residence, domicile and international tax matters
* Provide advice on trust structures and offshore/UK tax planning
* Advise on Inheritance Tax, estate planning and wealth transfer
* Support family businesses with tax-efficient extraction and succession planning
* Work alongside financial advisers on wider wealth management strategies
* Liaise with HMRC and other professional advisers where required
* Identify tax risks and ensure technically robust and compliant advice
* Support business development and the growth of the private client tax service
* Manage budgets, fee quotes, recoveries and billing across the portfolio
About You
*CTA, ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
* Proven experience in a private client tax managerial role
* Strong UK personal tax compliance experience
* Experience providing personal tax advisory and planning services
* Strong knowledge of CGT, IHT, trusts, residence and domicile
* Experience advising HNWIs and owner-managed businesses
* International tax experience advantageous
* Strong client relationship and project management skills
* Commercially aware with experience managing fees, budgets and billing
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* Experience mentoring and developing junior team members
*CCH experience advantageous, alongside Croner-i or LexisNexis
* Proactive, analytical and confident dealing with complex tax matters
