We are seeking an experienced Street Scene Operations Manager to oversee our Street Scene service. This role is crucial for managing our grounds maintenance teams and ensuring high standards of street cleansing and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have experience in local government or a horticultural role, with a strong background in managing operational teams.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
*Manage day-to-day operations of street scene services, including street cleansing and grounds maintenance, ensuring compliance with service standards and SLAs/targets.
*Lead teams of operational staff, setting performance expectations, monitoring productivity, and addressing any issues.
*Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, health & safety, and council policies.
*Manage operational budgets and respond to queries, complaints, and service requests.
*Collaborate with key stakeholders such as councillors, community groups, and other council departments to enhance service delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications
*Proven experience in local government street scene operations, including grounds maintenance and street cleansing.
*Strong understanding of operational service standards, health & safety requirements, and compliance within a public-sector context.
*Demonstrated ability to manage resources effectively to ensure efficient service delivery.
*Experience in supervising operational teams, including task allocation, performance monitoring, and staff development.
*Competency in using digital systems for scheduling, reporting, and recording operational data.
*Full driving licence is essential.
