Shillito Group are recruiting for a Mechanical Fitters Mate to join an established engineering business supplying and supporting specialist equipment across the UK.
If you have the right engineering education behind you, a good attitude and the perseverance to learn, this could work well. You do not need to know everything from day one, but the right attitude is key.
The role*Dismantling and assembling mechanical systems
*Working mainly with ductwork, fans and ventilation equipment
*Carrying out inspections and identifying faults
*Producing short reports on existing ventilation systems
*Completing preventative maintenance on plant and equipment
*Using hand tools, machinery and site equipment safely
*Supporting other engineering disciplines when required
*Following site procedures and health, safety, quality and environmental requirements
*Working closely with the wider engineering team on customer sites
What we are looking forYou could already have experience within:
*Mechanical engineering
*Maintenance
*Ventilation or ductwork
*HVAC
*Mechanical installation
*Plant or manufacturing environments
Alternatively, you may be earlier in your career with an engineering apprenticeship, BTEC, NVQ, HNC or similar qualification.
What matters most is that you are mechanically minded, reliable, willing to learn and prepared to stick at it when things get difficult.
If you have the right attitude and a solid engineering foundation, the technical side can be developed.
