We’re working with an innovative technology company seeking a Senior Python Software Engineer to build and optimise high-performance data processing systems in a production-focused environment.
This role is centred on software engineering rather than modelling, with a strong emphasis on clean code, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and scalable data processing.
Key Responsibilities*Develop and maintain production-grade Python applications.
*Build high-throughput data processing pipelines handling large datasets on local server infrastructure.
*Design and implement robust multithreaded and multiprocessing solutions.
*Write clean, maintainable code within a TDD environment.
*Optimise performance across CPU, memory, and I/O intensive workloads.
Essential Experience*Strong commercial Python development experience.
*Expert knowledge of multithreading, multiprocessing, and concurrency.
*Proven track record working in a Test-Driven Development environment.
*Experience building scalable, production-focused systems.
*Strong understanding of software performance optimisation and clean code principles.
*Experience working with big data and high-volume processing on localised infrastructure.
Desirable*Experience with C++ or Rust.
*Distributed systems or parallel processing experience.
*Background in scientific, engineering, or industrial software environments.
