About the Business
An excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing services business in Central Worcester as a Management Accountant. You’ll sit within a small but high-impact commercial team, reporting to the commercial head, with real autonomy over the end-to-end management accounts and the opportunity for line management of one team member. This is a role with genuine visibility, working directly with the Finance Director and the wider Executive team.
Main Duties:
As a Management Accountant, your main duties include:
*Taking full ownership of the management accounts from start to finish
*Producing and reviewing the monthly accounts for every company within the Group
*Pulling the Group figures together into a consolidated set of management accounts
*Completing balance sheet reconciliations
*Building the monthly reporting pack for the Board and Executive team
*Producing insightful reporting across sales activity, customer and R&D
*Developing P&L reporting split by function, department and product, building strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business
*Supplying management information to the Executive team on request
*Working alongside the wider FP&A team to pull together the annual budget, ongoing forecasts and supporting packs
*Driving improvements in reporting processes, output quality and model governance, with a view to shortening the month-end timetable
*Introducing process improvements and tightening controls through automation
*Making better use of finance systems, data and tools to improve efficiency and insight
*Line managing one member of the management accounting team, covering objectives, coaching, development and performance
*Acting as a mentor across the wider finance team, setting the standard for accuracy, rigour and ownership
*Maintaining consistency and high technical standards across reporting
Location / Office / Culture
The role is hybrid, with a maximum of 2 days based in Central Worcester. The business is people-focused, with diversity, equity and inclusion genuinely embedded, and a set of values built around accountability, innovation, teamwork and trust. You’ll be joining a lean, fast-moving finance function where your work is seen and used at Board level.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
*ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified is preferred but will consider finalists or QBE
*Ownership of the month-end process is essential
*A proven track record of delivering accurate financial information to deadline
*Experience of managing, coaching or developing others — or clear readiness to take that step
*Advanced Excel and strong attention to detail
*Confidence working autonomously within a small team
Why Join the business
*25 days holiday plus bank holidays, rising to 26 after three years, with the option to buy up to 30
*Discretionary 5% company bonus
*4% matched pension contribution
*Life assurance at 4x salary and critical illness cover
*Enhanced family leave — 26 weeks’ full maternity pay and 6 weeks’ paternity
*More benefits disclosed once applied
