An established and growing accountancy practice is looking for an Audit Senior to join its team in London, offering the opportunity to work closely with a broad range of businesses while continuing to develop technically and professionally.
The Role
This is a hands-on position for an experienced auditor who enjoys taking ownership of assignments and building trusted relationships with clients. You’ll manage audits through to completion, support junior colleagues and work closely with senior members of the team on a varied portfolio.
You’ll gain exposure to owner-managed businesses, growing companies and larger organisations, giving you the chance to broaden your commercial understanding while strengthening your technical audit and accounts experience. For an Audit Senior looking to progress, the role also provides a strong platform to develop leadership skills and work towards a future Manager position.
What You’ll Be Doing*Lead audit assignments from initial planning through to completion
*Prepare statutory accounts and associated corporation tax computations
*Review financial information and investigate unusual or potentially material issues
*Supervise and support junior members of the team, allocating work and providing constructive feedback
*Monitor assignment progress, budgets and deadlines to ensure work is delivered efficiently
*Communicate directly with clients, handling queries and identifying opportunities to add value
*Prepare audit files for review by Managers and Partners
*Work on consolidated accounts and more complex assignments where required
*Apply relevant UK accounting and auditing standards across your portfolio
*Contribute to the development of less experienced colleagues through coaching and on-the-job support
What We’re Looking For
You’ll ideally be ACA or ACCA qualified and have solid external audit experience gained within an accountancy practice. Strong technical knowledge is important, alongside the confidence to manage assignments and communicate effectively with clients.
You should bring:
*ACA or ACCA qualification, or equivalent professional qualification
*Proven external audit experience within practice
*Strong understanding of UK accounting and auditing standards
*Good knowledge of corporation tax and VAT
*Experience preparing statutory accounts
*Previous experience supervising, mentoring or delegating work to junior staff
*Ability to manage multiple assignments and competing deadlines
*Experience with consolidations would be advantageous
*Knowledge of Inflo or similar audit software is useful, although not essential
*A commercially minded and client-focused approach
What’s On Offer*£50,000 - £55,000 indicative salary, depending on experience
