A well-established and growing accountancy practice based in Chelmsford is seeking an experienced Audit & Accounts Senior to join its expanding team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a practice-trained accountant looking to work with a varied client portfolio, lead audit assignments and play a key role within a supportive and forward-thinking firm.
The Role
As an Audit & Accounts Senior, you will be responsible for managing audit assignments from planning through to completion, while also supporting clients with statutory accounts preparation and financial reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
*Leading audit assignments for a diverse portfolio of clients
*Planning, conducting and completing audits to a high standard
*Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for Limited Companies, Partnerships and Sole Traders
*Supervising and reviewing the work of junior team members
*Preparing management accounts and financial reports
*Liaising directly with clients and acting as a key point of contact
*Identifying opportunities to provide additional support and advice to clients
*Assisting with corporation tax and personal tax compliance work
*Ensuring assignments are delivered on time and within budget
*Supporting managers and partners with ad hoc projects
About You
*Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice is essential
*Strong audit and accounts preparation experience
*ACA or ACCA qualified
*Experience leading audits and managing client relationships
*Knowledge of accounting software such as CCH, IRIS, Xero, Sage or QuickBooks
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
