Hays Education are working with a number of inclusive and supportive primary schools in the Bournville (B30) area who are looking to appoint caring, patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants and 1:1 Support Assistants for the new academic year starting in September 2026.If you’re passionate about making a difference and helping children overcome barriers to learning, we’d love to hear from you.

Your new role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant or 1:1 Support Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to thrive both academically and socially.Responsibilities may include:
*Providing 1:1 support for pupils with SEN
*Supporting children with Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language needs, and other additional learning needs
*Implementing strategies to support behaviour and engagement
*Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
*Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs and other professionals
*Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
Roles are available on both a full-time and part-time basis, with long-term opportunities throughout the academic year.

What you’ll need to succeed
We’re keen to hear from candidates who:
*Have experience supporting children with SEN, either in schools or other child-focused settings
*Are patient, empathetic and resilient
*Have experience working on a 1:1 basis or with small intervention groups
*Are confident building positive relationships with pupils and staff
*Have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
*Hold a relevant qualification (desirable but not essential)
Experience in personal care, behaviour support, Makaton, PECS, Team Teach or similar interventions would be advantageous.
