Location: London
An established consultancy is looking for a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join their London team. This is a senior technical position offering the opportunity to lead complex geotechnical projects, provide technical expertise and support the development of junior engineers.
The RoleYou’ll take a leading role across a variety of geotechnical projects, from ground investigation and design through to construction, working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
Key responsibilities will include:
*Leading and managing complex geotechnical projects
*Reviewing ground investigation information and developing ground models
*Undertaking and reviewing geotechnical design calculations
*Foundation, retaining wall and earthworks design
*Slope stability and settlement assessments
*Producing and reviewing geotechnical interpretative reports
*Providing technical input into ground investigation specifications
*Liaising with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams
*Reviewing technical work and providing guidance to junior engineers
*Supporting fee proposals, tenders and business development
*Managing project budgets, programmes and technical deliverables
About You*Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline
*Significant experience within UK geotechnical consultancy
*Strong technical knowledge across geotechnical design and ground investigation
*Experience with Eurocodes and relevant British Standards
*Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership
*Strong report writing and client-facing skills
*Experience mentoring and technically supervising junior staff
*Full UK driving licence
