Full job descriptionA great opportunity to join a Staffordshire local authority’s finance function as Strategic Finance Business Partner for Children’s Services. Reporting into the Head of Finance – Children’s Services, you’ll provide day-to-day financial insight and support on one of the council’s most complex, demand-led budgets.
*Provide day-to-day strategic finance business partnering support to the Head of Finance – Children’s Services and directorate leadership team
*Support budget setting, monitoring and forecasting for Children’s Services, working closely with budget holders
*Contribute to the identification, tracking and delivery of savings and efficiency proposals, including around placements and safeguarding costs
*Provide financial analysis, modelling and advice to support directorate and corporate decision-making
*Build strong relationships across finance, Children’s Services and wider corporate teams, providing both support and challenge
*Support the Head of Finance with contributions to the council’s MTFP and statutory reporting
We’re looking for a part or fully qualified accountant with local government finance experience, this is essential, ideally with some exposure to Children’s Services or demand-led budgets. Apply now for a confidential conversation.
