Full job descriptionRight Now Group are recruiting for a Freight Pricing Coordinator to join a growing freight forwarding business based in Colnbrook.
This is a varied commercial role working across Air, Sea and Road Freight, where you’ll be responsible for managing customer enquiries, sourcing competitive buying rates and producing accurate quotations.
You’ll work closely with airlines, shipping lines, hauliers, overseas agents and the Operations team to identify the most suitable transport solution based on cost, routing, transit time and customer requirements.
The position also includes an element of customer development and Inside Sales. You’ll follow up quotations, build relationships with existing customers and identify opportunities to generate additional business.
This could be an excellent opportunity for someone already working within freight pricing or inside sales, or an operational freight professional who enjoys the commercial and customer-facing side of freight forwarding.
Key Responsibilities of a Freight Pricing Coordinator
*Manage customer pricing enquiries across Air, Sea and Road Freight
*Source competitive buying rates from airlines, shipping lines, hauliers, overseas agents and suppliers
*Prepare accurate and commercially competitive freight quotations
*Compare different carriers, routings and transport options to identify the most appropriate solution
*Negotiate with carriers and suppliers to secure competitive buying rates
*Ensure quotations remain competitive whilst achieving appropriate margins
*Follow up outstanding quotations and work to maximise conversion into bookings
*Maintain regular communication with customers throughout the quotation process
*Develop strong working relationships with new and existing customers
*Identify opportunities to provide additional freight and logistics services
*Support the external Sales team with pricing, customer proposals and commercial enquiries
*Carry out proactive customer contact through telephone and email where appropriate
*Maintain awareness of freight market rates, airline capacity, shipping schedules, surcharges and changing market conditions
*Provide pricing support across services including Customs Clearance, Warehousing, Time Critical, AOG, Vessel Spares and Project Cargo
*Maintain accurate quotation and customer information within internal systems and CRM
*Work closely with the Operations team to ensure a smooth handover when quotations convert into bookings
*Maintain accurate records of customer activity, quotations and follow-up
Skills & Experience Required for a Freight Pricing Coordinator
*Previous experience within freight forwarding or logistics
*Good understanding of Air, Sea and Road Freight
*Experience preparing freight quotations would be highly advantageous
*Previous experience within Freight Pricing, Operations, Inside Sales or Customer Service would be particularly relevant
*Strong numerical skills and commercial awareness
*Confident sourcing and comparing rates from different carriers and suppliers
*Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
*Confident communicating with customers, airlines, shipping lines, hauliers and overseas agents
*Good negotiation skills and the ability to protect margins whilst remaining competitive
*Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple pricing enquiries
*Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
*Proactive attitude with an interest in developing commercially
*Good Microsoft Office skills
*Knowledge of Incoterms and Customs Clearance would be advantageous
*Experience using freight forwarding or CRM systems would be beneficial
Salary & Benefits for a Freight Pricing Coordinator
*Salary up to £35,000 depending on experience
*Monday to Friday working pattern
*Colnbrook / London Heathrow location
*Permanent, full-time position
