We are a busy family living in North Woodchester, just outside Stroud, looking for a reliable, friendly and proactive Housekeeper / Family Assistant to become a regular part of our household.


Having previously used cleaning agencies, we’re now looking for one consistent person who can get to know our home and family and take some ownership of keeping everything running smoothly.


The core role would be approximately 12 hours per week, spread across three regular 4-hour visits, with the potential for additional hours from time to time.


This is more than a standard cleaning role. We’re looking for someone who is happy to turn their hand to the everyday jobs involved in keeping a busy family home organised.


Typical responsibilities


* General household cleaning and tidying
* Laundry, washing and ironing
* Changing beds and managing bedding
* Keeping the kitchen and general living areas organised
* Occasional deeper cleaning and household organisation
* Light food preparation from time to time
* Generally keeping on top of the household and noticing what needs doing
* Occasional supervision of our children when required


We have three children aged 8, 12 and 13. They are increasingly independent, so this is not primarily a nanny position, but we would like someone who is comfortable being around children and could occasionally be at home with them or provide babysitting by separate arrangement.


About You


We’re particularly interested in someone who is:


* Reliable, trustworthy and punctual
* Friendly and comfortable becoming part of a family household
* Naturally tidy and organised
* Proactive and able to see what needs doing without needing a detailed list each visit
* Experienced in housekeeping, cleaning, family support or a similar role
* Comfortable around children
* Looking for a stable, long-term part-time position


Previous housekeeping or family-assistant experience would be ideal, although we’re more interested in finding the right dependable person than a particular CV.


As we are in North Woodchester, having your own transport would be strongly preferred.


Hours & Flexibility


Our preference is three visits per week of approximately four hours each.


We can offer 12 regular hours every week and are happy to discuss which days and times work best for the right person.


There may also be opportunities for additional hours and occasional babysitting, if mutually convenient.


Pay: £18–£20 per hour depending on experience.


We’re hoping to find somebody locally who would like to stay with us for the longer term and become a trusted and valued part of the household.
