Full job description Financial Accounting Manager – Canary Wharf

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Financial Accounting Manager / Senior Financial Accountant to join a growing Finance team within a leading financial services organisation.
This is a broad, hands-on role covering financial accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, VAT, audit and financial controls .
Key Responsibilities *Own the month-end close and financial accounting processes.
*Manage and oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable .
*Review and control balance sheet, bank and nostro reconciliations .
*Prepare accruals, prepayments, journals and intercompany accounting .
*Support annual financial statements and financial reporting .
*Prepare VAT returns , including Partial Exemption and VAT true-ups.
*Assist with Corporation Tax and HMRC reporting.
*Coordinate external audit queries and sample testing.
*Oversee fixed assets, corporate cards, payment reconciliations and FX reporting .
*Maintain strong financial controls, procedures and reconciliations .
*Manage and develop a junior member of the Finance team.
What We’re Looking For Ideally, you will have experience in financial accounting within banking, financial services or another regulated environment , with strong knowledge of:
Financial Accounting | Financial Reporting | Month-End | AP | AR | Balance Sheet Reconciliations | Nostro | VAT | Corporation Tax | Audit | Financial Controls | Statutory Accounts | Journals | Accruals & Prepayments
Experience with FloQast, Oracle or Access Dimensions would be advantageous.
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified/part-qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, alongside candidates with strong relevant experience.
We’re looking for someone hands-on, commercially aware, highly organised and comfortable managing multiple deadlines .
