Full time hours on a temporary basis
Key Responsibilities
Legal Services*Provide legal advice on housing management and landlord & tenant disputes.
*Manage housing disrepair and housing condition litigation from inception to conclusion.
*Draft pleadings, particulars of claim, defences, witness statements, injunction applications, committal applications, and trial documentation.
*Conduct advocacy where appropriate (excluding trials).
*Instruct and manage external solicitors and Counsel where required.
*Support stakeholders across the organisation on legal and litigation matters.
*Deliver housing law and litigation training to colleagues.
Specialist Disrepair Focus*Serve as the legal lead and centre of excellence for housing disrepair and housing condition litigation.
*Develop and maintain legal templates, precedents, and best practice guidance.
*Support legal colleagues with complex disrepair matters.
*Drive continuous improvement and reporting within the disrepair service.
People Management*Line manage 2 or more paralegals.
*Develop, coach and support junior legal staff.
*Conduct performance management, induction, and development activities.
*Promote a collaborative, resident-focused culture.
